2026 World Day of Prayer Service
In a world that often feels hurried and heavy, there is a profound power in pausing to find stillness and community. This year, we invite you to participate in a moment of reflection and unity.
On Friday, March 6th, St. John’s Anglican Church in Bancroft will host the 2026 World Day of Prayer. This isn’t just a local gathering; it is part of a worldwide movement coordinated in Canada by the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Canada.

Theme: “I will give you rest: come”
This year’s service is particularly special, as it was prepared by an ecumenical group of women from Nigeria. Drawing from Matthew 11:28-30, the program focuses on the universal need for spiritual and physical renewal.
The service also features the stunning artwork “Rest for the Weary” by artist Gift Amarachi OTTAH, which beautifully captures the essence of this year’s invitation to find peace.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
