What a fantastic evening! On September 25, St. Paul’s had the pleasure of hosting our annual Fall Roast Beef Dinner. We were so happy to see so many new and familiar faces join us for this seasonal favourite.
This dinner is always a wonderful chance to connect with the Bancroft Community while supporting the ongoing work of St. Paul’s United Church.
A Night of Warmth and Fellowship
The Atmosphere in the hall was one of genuine warmth and fellowship from the moment doors opened. Laughter and conversation filled the air as tables filled with guests. It truly felt like a community reunion, a place where old friends could catchup and new connections could be made. We saw multi-generational families dining side-by-side with long-time church members and new visitors from the wider Bancroft area.
For those who preferred to enjoy their meal at home, the take-out service was equally busy, ensuring that everyone in the community had a chance to partake in the feast. Whether you dined in with us or took your meal home, we sincerely hope you enjoyed the delicious taste of fall.

The Menu: A Classic Fall Feast
The menu certainly delivered on the promise of a heartwarming meal with tender roast beef and all the trimmings.
Our volunteers worked tirelessly to create a truly memorable meal, and the star of the show – the roast beef – was, as reported “fork tender”. Every plate was generously piled with all the classic accompaniments you would expect from a traditional fall dinner: fluffy mashed potatoes, savoury gravy, seasonal vegetables, and of course, a selection of delicious homemade pies to finish. The comforting aroma of the meal drifted throughout the church hall, creating a delightful and appetizing experience for all who attended.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers.
This dinner simply would not have been possible without the incredible dedication and hard work of our church family and the wider community. On behalf of the Board of General Purposes, we extend our sincerest thanks to every single person who contributed.
Our gratitude goes out to all who donated food, baked, cooked, set up, and worked both on Wednesday and Thursday to prepare and serve a truly delicious meal. A special shout-out to Elmer Hoover and his grandson for cooking the beef – a true highlight of the evening!
We also want to recognize the Waiters, Waitresses, Servers, Dishwashers, and the entire Clean-up Crew. Your efforts kept the evening running smoothly from start to finish.
We want to give a particular thank you to those who volunteered their time on Thursday night but are not members of our church. Your help is always deeply appreciated and a true testament to the strong, supportive community we live in.
Thank you to anyone we may have missed—your contribution, large or small, is invaluable.

A Financial Success
Even with attendance being a lower than anticipated, the Fall Roast Beef Dinner was a tremendous success for St. Paul’s United Church and Bancroft United Communities of Faith.
We’re happy to report that the dinner made an approximate profit of $2,000! This outstanding result is a direct reflection of the community’s generosity and the effort put in by all our volunteers. These funds will go directly toward supporting the work of our church.
